The drive
US 96 south to US 69 south through Beaumont and Nederland to Port Arthur is about 50 minutes. Sabine Pass, Golden Pass LNG and Cheniere add another 10 to 15 minutes down TX 87. Most workforce residents leave before 5 am and miss the Beaumont traffic entirely.
Why not stay closer
Parks within 20 minutes of the terminals charge $700 and up for monthly full hookups, fill on waitlists during turnarounds, and are mostly gravel lots. Red Cloud trades a longer drive for $250 a month in savings, shade, a pool, a gym and a laundry room on site. Many residents have been here through multiple construction phases.
